SPAN 315: Introduction to Translation Spanish-English
SPAN 315 Introduction to Translation Spanish-English helped me acquired many skills when it comes to translate Spanish-to English and visiversal English-to Spanish. I learned many rules that can be applied when you translating a document. We have to keep in mind to what audience we are translating. Example: if I’m translating for a Mexican audience this sentences: “ compra la torta para el cumpleaños” the word “torta” in countries like Argentina means “cake” but in Mexico “torta” is bread with ham, lettuce, and cheese. The word that we have to used within the sentences is “Pastel”. I enjoyed this course because when you are bilingual this course helps you improved your translating skills. I never thought about working as a translator or interpreter but this class is motivating me to explored and to take other courses of translation that we helped me improved even better my translation skills. Translation is not easy but with this course I feel that we the techniques that I acquired I’m better now when it comes to translating.
